Al principio fue un sombrero solo de mujer, para despu\u00e9s popularizarse a trav\u00e9s de actores masculinos como Humphrey Bogart que lo llevaron en diversas pel\u00edculas\u00a0 y convertirse en uno de los sombreros m\u00e1s populares tanto para hombres como para mujeres\r\n\r\n<strong>PANAMA<\/strong>. Con un dise\u00f1o y caracter\u00edsticas pr\u00e1cticamente id\u00e9nticas al fedora, su principal diferencia es que este est\u00e1 hecho de paja. Se origin\u00f3 en Ecuador (no Panam\u00e1) y se populariz\u00f3 durante la creaci\u00f3n del canal de Panam\u00e1 a principios del siglo XX, convirti\u00e9ndose en el rey de los sombreros de paja.\r\n\r\n<strong>EL SOMBRERO CUBANO CANOTIER<\/strong>. Su fabricaci\u00f3n sigue el uso de paja como tejido principal, dando forma a su cabeza con una copa plana y una forma recta a su ala. Normalmente est\u00e1 decorado con una banda de color azul o negra. Dentro de esta definici\u00f3n entran los conocidos: Canotier, Boater, Pork pie o Gondolero, siendo solo diferenciados entre ellos por los m\u00e1s puristas seg\u00fan el tipo de paja y el trenzado de la misma.\r\n\r\nEl sombrero cubano canotier, boater o pork pie es un sombrero de paja que admite tanto un estilo formal como informal, adaptable a todo tipo de situaciones. Esta por ello considerado entre los mejores sombreros por su elegancia e intemporalidad. En sus or\u00edgenes fue reconocido como el sombrero de la gente y era utilizado por todas las clases sociales: actores, deportistas, navegantes y personas de clase media tanto en comidas campestres, eventos deportivos y excursiones de fin de semana como en acontecimientos m\u00e1s formales. Lleg\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n a ser considerado, aunque usado indistintamente por hombres y mujeres, como un icono de la nueva mujer gracias a su uso por parte de Coco Channel en sus visitas al hip\u00f3dromo antes de la primera guerra mundial.\r\n\r\nEn Cuba constituy\u00f3 la imagen t\u00edpica del refinado caballero cubano entre los a\u00f1os 1914-1940, como complemento del traje blanco crudo \u2018\u2019dril cien\u2019\u2019 tan t\u00edpico de la isla caribe\u00f1a.
